Slight update

Just in case anyone is worried that my blog has been hacked, no reason to worry. I spend a lot of my time at the moment writing books as well and am now working on my fourth novel. I still craft when I have time to do so and hope to post some crafting on here again soon.

Little update

Hi there everyone.

Just to let you know I'm still around, just rather busy with other things. I have recently retired from my day job, but then started to take up my other hobby again as well. I have been really busy with that and have made it a bit of a 'career change' if you will. I will soon pick up on this blog though as well.

If you are interested to know about my other hobby (writing novels), then feel free to have a look on my Author's blog, my website, or follow me on  facebooktwitter or Inlinkz as you please for updates on that.

Love,

Jo

CRAFT Challenge Blog Hop 2017

Happy Birthday To Us
Happy Birthday To Us
Happy Birthday Dear CRAFT Challenge
Happy Birthday To Us!

Can you believe it? CRAFT Challenge is already 8 years old. Originally started by Tracy from Just Tracy Crafts and with a DT mostly recruited from Trimcraft forum members (Hence the term CRAFT Challenge, which stood for Crafters Residing Are Friendly Trimmies. Or if you wished alternative meaning of Can't Remember A Flipping Thing) on the 4th of May 2009.

We have now grown to be a large team of Design Team Members from all around the world, supplemented with several Guest Designers who join us for a month or a week at a time.

We have always welcomed all kinds of craft, not just paper craft (unless specifically stated so in the challenge at the time) and are happy to have such a large group of faithful followers.

So, how are we going to celebrate this milestone?

Well, how else can we celebrate than to have our yearly Blogaversary Blog Hop?

We all feature sponsors for this blog hop on our blogs and I have the honour of featuring and offering a prize from the following sponsor. You can win this prize by adding your name to Inlinkz at the end of this post. I would love to see your comments as well.

The sponsor on my blog is Eureka Stamps.

And you can win 3 images from Eureka Stamps  by adding your name to the Inlinkz at the end of this post.

How can you get to win any of the prizes provided by our sponsors?

Challenge 404, Mothers' Day/Female at CRAFT Challenge.

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I last posted anything on my blog. Life just has been too busy with work, home and organising CRAFT Challenge to allow any time for crafting for me. I however could not let the current challenge at CRAFT Challenge go by as I needed some cards for 2 very special ladies.

February is a month with 2 female birthdays in our family. So, the current challenge at CRAFT Challenge is just right for this. For this card I have used a template from Robyn Cockburn at Craftsuprint. I have amended it very slightly to suit these 2 ladies (my mum in law and my daughter) in my life. I have removed the image the design came with and replaced it with a photo taken at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park of their favourite animal the tiger. Hope you like it. Don't forget to also check our challenge at CRAFT Challenge.

And here is the finished card, hope you like.

Love,

Jo.

Recipe for homemade Satay Sauce.

To serve with Nasi Goreng or with sate sticks, or even as a sauce on top fo french fries.

Here is the recipe for sate sauce.
All you need is:

a jar of crunchy peanut butter
a diced onion
some sambal (the chili pepper sauce again, may have to dig out a recipe for that one as you can't buy it here very easily  )
some Indonesian herbs ( ground ginger, ground cumin, and some others of which I don't know the English version, basically some tumeric I guess and of course some garlic)
some soy sauce
some lime or lemon juice
some sugar/brown sugar
some milk

Put some oil into a sauce pan and heat it.
Add the onion and fry until it is soft.
Add the peanut butter and the herbs, the sugar (1 teaspoon), the sambal (1-2 teaspoons), the soy sauce(table spoon full) and stir, heat till warm.
Slowly add milk until it is a smooth sauce (will thicken during heating so you will probably need about 200ml)

I don't even need the recipes for these 2 any longer, just put them in as I find them and done. Absolutely love them.

If you want sate, all you need to do is get some diced chicken or pork, put in a marinade of Chinese or Indonesian herbs, sambal and soy sauce and leave to soak for about half an hour. Then put the pieces on some bamboo sticks or skewers, put under the grill for 10 minutes, turning over half way and ready, just add the sauce and you're done.

Another nice one is to boil some mixed vegetables (carrots, broccoli, green beans, peas, some cabbage, some beansprouts, some cauliflower for about 3 minutes, drain. Then put in a oven dish or large platter/bowl, add some slices of boiled egg on the top, some prawn crackers and the sauce again. (this dish is called Gado Gado in Indonesia and in Holland)
A lovely dish to add to a rice table. Can be really quick due to getting some out of the freezer (mixed vegetables) and using these.

I think I will need to stop now, getting too hungry now  ;)

300th Challenge at CRAFT Challenge

Morning all,

A long absence as I have been really busy with work and home. This week at CRAFT Challenge we celebrate our 300th challenge with our followers. I had nearly totally forgotten about it, but fortunately several of our DT already gave me the heads up on it. I have therefore worked on a mini kit to celebrate this challenge, which will be free to download by our followers if they wish. It does not really fit in with the challenge subject, but I hope you like it anyway. Just in case you want to have access to it as well, here it is available for download. Just click on the picture to download.

Enjoy!

Love,

Jo
