Do you like copics?

Hi, just found some blog candy involving copics. If you like them, it's well worth having a look.

The first one is at Northern Papercrafts to celebrate the launch of their 1st Northern Papercraft Retreat and the prize is 36 copic markers. I certainly am interested in winning them. You do need to answer a question though to be in with a chance to win and put a link on your blog. And you can see what can be won underneath.

The other candy involving copics (72 of them!) can be found at Crafty Goings On and you need to link your entry to this to a card you have made using a download or stamped image. Obviously you also need to link to the challenge. All I now need to do is find or make a card to use.

The card I have used for this is this one which uses the lovely Belinda's garden stamp from The Crafty Pad.

CRAFT Challenge 10, colour combo limegreen and pink, DT call for CRAFT Challenge blog still open.

Hello everyone, time for challenge 10 at CRAFT Challenge already.

Just one very important message regarding this challenge: this one is running for 2 weeks due to holiday of Claire and will therefore be running till the 6th of August, entries are due in before Wednesday the 5th of August at 8pm. Although I have been pretty busy over the last week getting the kids organised for their 2 week stay at my in-laws, I managed to get something quick and easy together as my DT entry for this week as well. Although it is quite a simple card and design, I hope you like it.


For this card I used some backing paper from Funky Fairies, some scalloped rectangle diecuts from limegreen card and underneath lilac Christmassy background from Funky Fairies again.







The stamp is from Magnolia, coloured in using chalks, then scanned and printed 6 times for decoupage. Added a small classic oval shape with a sentiment and a peel off Happy Birthday and voila, the card was done. (put together while waiting for my car to be serviced, didn't feel like totally wasting my time).

I'm quickly writing this message for automatic publishing on Thursday, as I will be at work again from tomorrow till Friday and may not have time to sort it out then. The weather out here today (Monday) is lovely and I hope you are enjoying some sunshine as well.

Challenge 9 at CRAFT Challenge, shaped card

Hello everyone!

Thursday again and that means it is time for the next challenge at CRAFT Challenge, this week the challenge is to create a shaped card. Not rectangular or square, but any other shape is welcome. If you read and look on from here you will find my DT entry for this week's challenge and also the background and 3D decoupage image I have used for the front of the card. Hope you like it.

You can see the front view of my card above, I have chosen a octagonal card for my son's 13th birthday next month. As we are both Harry Potter fans (my daughter as well), I thought this would be a good card for him.

For this card I have chosen to have a card that pops up in the middle, much like the previous swivel and moving cards I have made. I found a 3D decoupage image on the web for the inside of the card, flipped the image to form a back image as well. The background and the 3D decoupage on the front I made myself and can be found at the end.

You can see a close up of the 3D decoupage image on the front, a download from the Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince website, this was layered onto a scalloped rectangle of the same card used for the base card. This was cut out with nestibilities.

On the inside of the card a little strip of the background paper (made with downloads from the site again) was used, also a 3D decoupage image found on the net.

A 'Happy Birthday' sentiment was stamped on the inside of the card and a peel off was added on the front.

And then last, but not least, the background paper I made as well as the 3D decoupage, step-by-step image. These can be used for personal use only. Please do not claim them as your own work.

Week 8 - Special Birthday at CRAFT Challenge

Hello everyone, it's time for Week 8 - Special Birthday 13,16,18,21,40 at CRAFT Challenge this week. Lets see the cards for those milestone birthdays.

As I was a little low of time this week, I used a card that I made for my niece 2 weeks ago (not yet uploaded till now). She had her first birthday last week. I think that is kind of a special birthday as well, don't you? I had hoped to make a card for my son's 13th birthday in August, but just did not have enough time or inspiration to manage that this week. We'll do that one at a later date.

So, here is my bit of inspiration for this challenge. Thank you for looking, all comments are very welcome and much appreciated. Looking forward to seeing all your creations.

Crafty Pad Challenge 28 entry.

A bit last minute, I know. Still I felt I couldn't really leave this challenge unattended so to speak. As you will probably already have heard, Debbie from The Crafty Pad has had a very rough week and her mum has unfortunately passed away. I'm sure that everyone who knows her is, just like me, thinking of her and her family at this very difficult time.

Last week I won her challenge and got this very lovely stamp, 'Belinda Garden', which I have used for this challenge. For this challenge card I have kept Debbie in mind. She is a very lovely lady and I hope she will find all the strength she needs to cope with her loss.

Other ingredients for this card: nestibilities classic circle (to cut out the image), nestibilities scalloped circle (for the red handmade paper underneath the image, some free background paper from Funky Fairies and of course, buttons as that is what this challenge is about. I have used a springy card for this one. It will also double up as an example for the summer fayre at school tomorrow. Have been railroaded into helping out at the craf stall. Made a grand total of 36 cards now, not bad in 2 weeks, I think.

Challenge 7 at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge is here!

Good morning all!

Today it's already time for challenge 7 at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog. For this week's challenge the brief is:

Decoupage - Either original decoupage, 3d decoupage, die cut or stamped images or any other interpretation, Layer it up !

And here are my 3 cards entered as my DT entry into the challenge. Hope you like them and they give you some inspiration to join us.

The first fairy card is using some bits of handmade paper cut using a classic and a scalloped circle nestibility with a peel off sentiment added. The strips of green striped paper are free downloads from Funky Fairies as is the scalloped red circle under the decoupaged fairy. The fairy background and the fairy decoupage image ( on all 3 cards) are free downloads from The Lilac Garden.

I believe they all 3 make great cards for some younger girls.

The second card is similar in design to the first one using the same papers, only the decoupaged fairy and the fairy background are different.

The last fairy card again is using a decoupage image and background from The Lilac Garden. The scalloped circles are cut out of some cream card and some free background paper from another source (can't remember just now), the strip of background paper is from Funky Fairies I believe. (I guess I really should mark my downloads a bit better).
