A Birthday card and a Christmas card for my mum with presents.

Morning all,

Happy Birthday to my mum first of all.

I don't know if she knows where to find my blog, so I left uploading these cards and candles till today, her birthday, just in case.

For both cards I have used an image I created myself. She has a great dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, called Ridgie. I only have a photo of her first one and created 2 digistamps. One is SantaRidgie and the other is BirthdayRidgie. Hope you like them. For the candles I used a picture of the kids and for the second one some stamps from the Crafty Pad.

Feel free to use my images for your personal use only, the same goes for the 3D decoupage sheets and the background papers I created with him. Please make sure you do keep my signature on the stamp though when using and do not claim as your own.

So here are some pictures of her birthday card for today. For this card I used this week's sketch from the Crafty Pad and changed it slightly to fit the A4 card and orientation I needed. I did not use one of her lovely stamps, but my own digistamp, 3D decoupage sheet and background paper on the inside(see below the views of the card). The other background papers are freebies from Funky Fairies amongst others. As I have used the sketch I am also going to enter it in this week's challenge at the Crafty Pad. Hope Debbie and her team like what I have done with it as well as my mum will hopefully like it.

One of the candles below, does use Debbie's lovely stamps.

And the digistamp, 3D decoupage sheet and background paper used can be found here on my sisterblog 'Trimgym's digistamps and images'. All digistamps and images on my sister blog are available for free download, please do not claim them as your own, leave my signature on, use for personal use only and if you would like to share them, please direct them to my blog.

And here are some images of the Christmas card I made for her. Hope you like them.

For this card I used 2 A4 cards, cut out the shapes with nestibilities for the swinging window. Not an easy task and much experimenting needed, but with a lot of aluminium foil and masking tape used to cover half of the die to ensure it wouldn't cut through the card where it shouldn't I finally managed. As it did leave slight indentation in the card, I covered that side with half of a cut out piece of holographic card cut out with the same die. On the inside I used my own backing paper, the one at the front is a freebie from Funky Fairies.

I must admit I like this card better than the birthday card.

The images and papers used can be found here on my sister blog 'Trimgym's digistamps and images', of course again only for personal use and do not claim as your own.

I also created some candles for her, one with a picture of the kids on, the other with some lovely stamps from the Crafty Pad, unfortunately it doesn't come out very well on the red candle (nice and smelly as well), but I hope she likes them anyway.

CRAFT Challenge 27, Christmas Gifts

Hello again everyone.

It's time for challenge 27 at CRAFT Challenge. Only a few more weeks till Christmas, have you all finished your Christmas cards and gifts yet?
I've still quite a lot of cards to sort before then, need about 200 and only have 75 so far.

But now to the order of the week, at CRAFT Challenge this week's challenge is to make a Christmas gift. That should get our creative juices flowing, I would think.

Our sponsor this week is our very own Eileen, aka Eiglas and she is donating a set of sentiment stamps.

Well here is my project for this challenge. It was a bit of a rush as I did not quite have a lot of time to do it in and nearly didn't manage to finish it in time, oops! Therefore made a quick candle just in case.

The candle is for my sister and brother-in-law and the little story book is for my nephew and niece. This is using a storybook template and stamps from The Crafty Pad.
I used some Anita stamps for the candle.

Now for some images of the story book.

To make this little book I had to translate the text to Dutch as they are Dutch (like me). I had at an earlier time already stamped all the images and scanned them to allow me to resize them for whatever project I would want to use them for. I did however still need to pixel clean the scanned images.

Instead of using papers and put a card with stamp on it, I used scanned Forever Friends and Papermania Christmas papers that I resized to fit A5 card and superimposed the stamps or the text on that.

All that was then needed was to print it out, cut to size, colour the stamps and laminate to keep them as good as possible. This way it will also be possible to wipe the pages clean. Not a bad idea with a 1 and a 3 year old!

Next the pages were again cut to size and I used a binding machine to punch the holes and bind the little book.

Hope you like it (and more importantly they do). Thank you all for looking, all comments are very welcome and much appreciated.

Hope to see you all at CRAFT Challenge this week.

Love,

Jo.

Challenge 15 at CRAFT Challenge, anything but a card.

Hello everyone,

Doesn't time just fly? It's time for challenge 15 already this week at CRAFT Challenge and we have something different for you in store this time. This week we want you to make anything but a card.

Can't wait to see what you all come up with.

For this week I have kept a project that I made early summer. Just kept it behind to use now. I made some candles for the craft fair at school (none sold I'm afraid, so they'll be fine for birthday presents I guess). Hope you like them.

This is a candle I made using a stamp from the Crafty Pad 'Belinda's Garden', I really love this one and hope you agree. This is the one I'm using as my DT entry for CRAFT Challenge.

I also made another few candles, this one has a stamp of 3 hens from Penny Black and is also quite nice and I also made some others with a bird stamp and some frog ones as well as a fairy one. Hope you like them.

Thanks for looking, all comments very welcome and much appreciated as always. If you would like to know how to do the candles, why not have a look at this thread on Trimcraft that is discussing this exact thing.

You can even print off a favourite photo onto tissue paper and use this for a very special personalised candle. I have tried it before. I have just added those pictures here. It was a candle I made as a Christmas present for my in-laws last Christmas with our kids on it. This was however the first one I made and not very successful yet. (I think the ink was nearly out on the printer)

This week's challenge is sponsored by Donnas Den banner She is donating LLB DVD and papers. The pictures are below.

Have a good weekend, looking forward to seeing your creations and good luck!
