Saturday's last card, 'Tennis'

And the fifth card for today is here. This one is using the sketch from Funky Fairies. Hope you like it.

For this card I used a blue square card blank, added a blue spotty ribbon and a large scalloped and classic circle (nestibility diecut). The yellow scalloped circle is made from handmade paper that is finally starting to come in handy as I bought it a few years ago as a big pack thinking I could use it )but never did much, oops!). The stripy paper circle is from a free download. The blue circles on top of the big circles are from some of my own background papers, you can find them earlier on my blog. The last 2 circles carrying the Happy Birthday peel offs are a free download from Funky Fairies.

Last, but not least there is a 3D decoupage image on top of the central circles.

Hope you like it, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

Thank you card for challenges.

Hello again!

Third entry on my blog today already and one of the cards I made today with a few things in mind. No. 1, the kids will soon be needing some thank you cards for their teachers.

There were also some challenges I was hoping to enter into.

Here is the card, using a sketch from Sketch Saturday, Roses for the ABC Challenge, Thank you with some free Funky Fairies papers for their challenge, triangles for the challenge at Allsorts, it also fits with the colours this week at Colour Create and with the Simon says challenge and with Paperblooms as well. Also with the Creative Card Crew challenge (geometric patterns). It could even fit the pink elephannt inspirational play along. And as it is 'up to you' at Lots to do it also fits there. I wonder if that is a record. It is for me I guess.

Get Well card for Challenge

Good afternoon everyone!

I have just finished a Get Well card I'm going to use in the latest Funky Fairies Challenge.

Here is a quick view of the card. To make it a little different from usual I put it in a octagonal shape. Hope you like it.

For this card I used a 'Just Teddy with flower' from The Crafty Pad (http://thecraftypad.blogspot.com/) stamp, coloured with some pastels and cut out. Then layered it onto yellow oval shaped card (using oval nestibility in Big Shot), layered onto scalloped pink, then purple card (nestibilities again).

This was then mounted onto an octagon of paper 28 of free paper pack 4 of Funky Fairies (http://funkyfairyinspirations.blogspot.com/), layered onto paper 25 of free pack dmaddon1 of Funky Fairies.

Dare to be Square birthday card for sister-in-law.

Hello all, I have just finished a card for my sister-in-law, who has her birthday in May. A good thing she doesn't know about my blog as yet!

Here is just a quick peek. I thought it would be quite a good one for the Dare to be Square challenge on Funky Fairies as well, but I may just be a bit too late for that.

It has used four of their papers from the pink range, though.

For the spinning image inside the card, I have used the CuddlyBuddly freebie, 4 layers of it cut in different stages for a 3D image. I flipped the image for the other side of the spinner.

Inside the card I used their background and another image in the background.

This is one of the first stages of the card.

For this I chose a pink card blank for the outside of the card and for the inside of the card, measuring 13.5cm square. I then cut out 4 squares of the Funky Fairies backing paper, 12.5, 11.5, 10.5 and 9.5 cm square and layered them onto the base card.

Next I cut out a rectangle half the size of the image at the front of the card. This is one I got from The Lilac Garden.

The second stage of the card was to decorate the inside of the outside part of the card. A bit of the backing paper used on the inside of the card was used for this, with the cuddlybuddly bear image added to this. You can see this below.

And here are some of the views of the finished card, it is quite difficult to show this type of card of in the best possible way. It is again one of the swinging window cards with the swinging image in the middle as well. The picture below shows the card from the side with the swinging window.

FUNKY FAIRYS CHALLENGE 11 - DARE TO BE SQUARE! entry.

This is a very quick entry into the challenge at Funky Fairies at the moment. I didn't have a lot of time, but didn't want to let it go unnoticed. For this challenge, which you can find at http://funkyfairyschallengeblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/funky-fairys-challenge-11-dare-to-be.html, you need to create a project using at least one of their papers with the theme square.

For this project I have used several of their papers (6 to be exact) and made them into a template for a little cube. I then printed this off on A4 paper, which had a back ground paper from Arty Miss on the other side of the paper.

It was then cut out and stuck together with double sided sticky tape.

For papers used and template, see below.

Above you can see the template for the cube that has been used. Each square is made up of a different Funky Fairies paper. The top one is from their purple Christmas range, as is the one below on the right. (papers h and 40 respectively). The one to the right and below the top one is from the dmaddon2 range, paper 12. Next to that is paper 15 from the dmaddon1 range.

Below this is paper 16 from the birds range and below this paper 6 from the new feeling sweet range.

For the inside of the cube I have used an Arty Miss paper, bfly0103, a free download, just as the ones from Funky Fairies.

And a last view of the cube. I hope you like it. It was quite fun to make it and to resize the papers to fit the squares. To make it function best you do need a sturdy white cardboard to use.

Now it can be used as a little trinket box or if I would add some numbers, it would make a nicely decorated dice.

Blue card for Funky Fairies blue challenge

Good evening all, above you can see a quick-ish card I did last night for the blue challenge at Funky Fairies challenge blog.

Quick-ish card as I already had the decoupage picture (from the Lilac Garden at http://thelilacgardendecoupagesite.co.uk/) cut out and assembled at an earlier stage. I therefore only needed to draw, cut and fold the spring card template.



For those interested in the template, below is a template I do myself with the measurements. Basically it is a rectangle measuring 7.5 cm high by 15 cm wide. On top of this a 15 by 15 cm square. And on top of that a triangle 10.5 cm sides on a 15 cm base as shown below.





Cut out it looks like the picture below.

Next it needs some folding to get the template in its right shape. Fold along the line of the rectangle, this will be the base of the card. Next fold the square along a line from opposite corners. Also fold along a line horizontally down the middle of the square. The top part of the card will now be a 10.5 cm sided square. See also the picture below.

Then cut a recatngular piece of paper to decorate the base measuring 14.5 by 7 cm (thus leaving an edge of the base card all around) I have used Doodlementals paper 2 for this from Funky Fairies, resized to fit this card.

Stick this to the base with double sided sticky tape. It then looks like below.

Next cut out a 10 by 10 cm of other paper to decorate the square at the top of the card. For this I have used Funky Fairies Doodlementals paper 12, resized to fit this square. Again attach to the square with double sided sticky tape. It then looks like this:

Next add another square of card measuring 10 by 10 cm and put this on the other square like shown underneath. For this one I have used Funky Fairies blue Christmas paper j, the one with the flowery back ground.

The next step is to add the decoupaged image, this one is the 'Rock Chick' from the Lilac Garden.

It will then look like this:

Following this it is time to put the card together. Put double sided sticky tape to the bottom triangle formed by the pre-folded square and attach this to the base of the card. The spring card will now be able to stand up as shown below.

For extra decoration add some peel off corner decoration and a sentiment 'Happy Birthday' on this card.

I hope you like the card, I must admit it looks a lot better than I thought it would. I also hope the instructions have been helpful to those who would like to try a spring card themselves, it is really quite easy to do.
