Rozzy's sketch at Trimcraft/Card for Karen's Doodles US Challenge 5.

Evening all,

Hope everyone is well. Tonight I have made a card for a challenge at Trimcraft, which is open to Trimcraft members only. Our fellow trimmie Rozzy, has given us a lovely sketch to work with.

For this card, which is another one for Christmas done, I used a lovely image from Karen's Doodles, which I won in the UK Karen's Doodles Challenge 2 weeks ago. It is a new image I have had for the last 2 weeks. I have painted it, then scanned it and then adapted it to a 3D image. The papers are some that I have had for quite some time now, some for a few years, the others for about a year or so. Hope you like it.

And here is the adapted 3D image, as this is using an original Karen's Doodles, I am afraid I can only show you a watermarked version. Hope you like it.

I will also be entering this card into the Karen's Doodles US Challenge this week. Hope you like it.

A Birthday card and a Christmas card for my mum with presents.

Morning all,

Happy Birthday to my mum first of all.

I don't know if she knows where to find my blog, so I left uploading these cards and candles till today, her birthday, just in case.

For both cards I have used an image I created myself. She has a great dog, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, called Ridgie. I only have a photo of her first one and created 2 digistamps. One is SantaRidgie and the other is BirthdayRidgie. Hope you like them. For the candles I used a picture of the kids and for the second one some stamps from the Crafty Pad.

Feel free to use my images for your personal use only, the same goes for the 3D decoupage sheets and the background papers I created with him. Please make sure you do keep my signature on the stamp though when using and do not claim as your own.

So here are some pictures of her birthday card for today. For this card I used this week's sketch from the Crafty Pad and changed it slightly to fit the A4 card and orientation I needed. I did not use one of her lovely stamps, but my own digistamp, 3D decoupage sheet and background paper on the inside(see below the views of the card). The other background papers are freebies from Funky Fairies amongst others. As I have used the sketch I am also going to enter it in this week's challenge at the Crafty Pad. Hope Debbie and her team like what I have done with it as well as my mum will hopefully like it.

And here are some images of the Christmas card I made for her. Hope you like them.

For this card I used 2 A4 cards, cut out the shapes with nestibilities for the swinging window. Not an easy task and much experimenting needed, but with a lot of aluminium foil and masking tape used to cover half of the die to ensure it wouldn't cut through the card where it shouldn't I finally managed. As it did leave slight indentation in the card, I covered that side with half of a cut out piece of holographic card cut out with the same die. On the inside I used my own backing paper, the one at the front is a freebie from Funky Fairies.

I must admit I like this card better than the birthday card.

I also created some candles for her, one with a picture of the kids on, the other with some lovely stamps from the Crafty Pad, unfortunately it doesn't come out very well on the red candle (nice and smelly as well), but I hope she likes them anyway.

CRAFT Challenge 18, no backing paper

Hello everyone,

For challenge 18 at CRAFT Challenge our brief is: no backing paper. So, let's see your projects. We can't wait. Have a look at the creations of the other members of the DT, they are absolutely fabulous and mine can be seen below.





For this week our sponsor is the lovely Debbie from The Crafty Pad, and she is donating this lovely stamp for the winner (drawn by random organiser).







And here is my offering for this week.



It is a card I made for one of my son's friends who is a Robin Hood fan.

For this card I used an orange base card.








The target embellishment I made with some string, wrapping it around itself quite some time and sewing it the layers together as I went.












It then ended up looking like this.


The next step was to colour the centre red with some whispers.


After this it was time to create the arrow. I got a cocktail pricker for this and cut it in half, then glued a little piece of string to the blunt end of it with superglue.



This was then stuck into the target and stuck onto the card with some silicone glue.

For the 3D image I used a Robin Hood image from the BBC and printed a few times to create this step-by-step image.



Feel free to use it if you like for personal use only, but remember that the image is not mine, but has just been edited to 3D step-by-step by me.

The image was then assembled using silicone glue.



Next it was put on the card and a sentiment added. For this card I felt the sentiment. 'Hope your 11th birthday will be right on target!' would fit well. Hope you agree.

The young man this card was intended for was very pleased with it and his mum also thought it was a great card (not used to much I'm sure).


Looking forward to your creations and interpretation of this challenge, I hope there will be loads of people taking part again this week as well. It is a fab prize up for grabs!

Sheffield Wednesday birthday card.

Hello everyone,


Hope you are all enjoying the weekend.


Over here the birthday season has started again! Party invitations are arriving once more and parties to go to. My youngest has his birthday today (7 already) and had a party to go to today as well for one of his friends.



This is a Sheffield Wednesday birthday card for one of my youngest's class mates. He's a big fan.


I quickly put this card together this morning, just in time before the party.


It is a card with a moving ball, revealing 'Goal' as a message. (using a penny slider system)

And here is how I made the card.

First I found an image on the net to use for 3D adaptation. You can find the step-by-step 3D image here (this time only 4 layers). The image is not my own, but I have edited it to form a 3D image.

The next step was to put the image together using sillicone glue as you can see here:

The next step was to get a square piece of green handmade paper, cut a piece of sturdy card slightly smaller than this and attach it to the back of the handmade paper.

The next step was to cut out a football shape, cut out some sturdy card slightly smaller than the football to strengthen this shape and stick them together as well as cutting out 2 one pence sized circles stuck together again to be the counter part of the penny slider system.




Following this I made the goal, 3 strips of white handmade paper stuck together (7mm wide and 3 (3.5 for horizontal one)cm long.



Then stuck this to the green handmade paper top left corner.

I next put the footballer and the ball on top of the card to measure where I wanted the football to start and end and marked the slit for the penny slider on the handmade paper.

After this this was cut out.

The football was turned upside down and a very thin strip of doublesided foamtape was attached to the back, thin enough to fit comfortably in the slit in the card. The card with handmade paper was put on top of this upside down, with the foamtape sticking through. The penny sized circle was then attached to this and I doublechecked the slit was wide enough over the full length.


Next I got a piece of stiff card and held it in place to the back,
ball in lowest position, to fit comfortably onto the penny. I marked this point and then marked another line about 1cm higher. Then cut the card to size and fitted the words 'pull here' at the very top.

Time to then stick this card on the bottom of the pennyslider with doublesided sticky tape. I next moved the ball to the top position and in this position added the word 'GOAL' to it just above the edge of the handmade paper.


Now attach some doublesided foampads to the back of the handmade paper and attach to the base card (making sure the pennyslider can move freely)and add the footballer.


Add the Happy Birthday sentiment and done!
